Supply Chain Specialist, GPCS – Tempe, AZ
The Global Procurement Central Services AMER (GPCS AMER) supports Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers (FCs) by ensuring value for money on non‑inventory goods and services. In this role you will provide functional procurement support to a group of FCs, securing packaging supplies, managing Blanket Purchase Orders, bridging KPI ownership, resolving Accounts Payable invoice holds, supporting site launches, and handling escalation management.
Key job responsibilities- In partnership with Supply Chain Leadership, provide support for FCs, including forecasting of non‑inventory products, inventory management, non‑inventory flow and space models, cycle counts, procurement transactions, and expediting support.
- Develop deep knowledge of non‑inventory items and align with peers to drive best practices.
- Ensure best practices are shared and implemented.
- Work with internal teams and suppliers to develop innovative solutions that support the Operations network.
- Coordinate demand identification, procurement, and inventory management of all non‑merchandise items required for building operation (e.g., corrugate, packing materials, labor, janitorial services).
- Partner with Accounts Payable, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve vendor payment issues in a timely manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent professional or military experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in data analysis and formula creation in Microsoft Excel.
- At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Outlook rule creation and management.
- Experience with key performance indicator (KPI) reporting in operations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays on‑site in Tempe, Arizona.
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Strong experience in procurement domains such as materials management, logistics, supply‑chain operations, or shipping supplies.
- Experience in supplier/vendor relationship management.
- Understanding of ERP and/or MRP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Coupa).
- At least 1 year of inventory planning/forecasting experience.
- Experience as a Non‑Inventory Receiver or Stores Coordinator.
- Additional sourcing and purchasing competencies are advantageous.
The base pay ranges from $35,100 to $66,800 per year, depending on geographic market. Additional compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and benefits.
