Key responsibilities
  • Provide high quality occupational therapy interventions to adults, older adults and children in community and acute settings.
  • Assess and adapt treatment programmes to meet the needs of patients and service users, ensuring continuity of care across the health and social care system.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, nurses and social workers, to develop integrated care plans.
  • Use up‑to‑date clinical practice guidelines and evidence to inform therapy decisions and promote best practice.
  • Maintain accurate therapy records and contribute to audit, clinical governance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the implementation of local and national agenda’s for health under the guidance of the team lead / ward manager.
  • Prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, taking into account Trust policies and procedures.
Person specification Qualifications
  • Registered Healthcare Professional with the HCPC; degree in a health relevant subject or willingness to complete a degree (within 3 years of appointment).
Experience
  • Recent community/acute healthcare experience through education or work placements or previous employment.
Knowledge
  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS; knowledge of current clinical practice.
Skills and abilities
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to organise own work and use own initiative.
  • Ability to cope with change and work under pressure.
  • Ability to motivate and organise others to ensure best practice.
  • Flexible and adaptable.

Benefits and salary

Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year pro rata. Pro rata.
