Location: Bridge City
Position Summary
STI Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry‑Level Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early‑career professionals looking to build a career in heavy civil and industrial construction. The estimator will support the preconstruction team by assisting in cost estimation, bid preparation, and project analysis for a variety of civil and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Support bid preparation and proposal development
- Maintain organized records of estimates, takeoffs, and bid documents
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators
- Participate in post‑bid reviews and project handoff processes
- Stay current with market pricing, labor rates, and industry trends
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry
- Internship or co‑op experience in construction, estimating, or project engineering
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Sage, Bluebeam, P6, Project, or similar)
- Basic understanding of civil construction methods and materials
- Combination of office and occasional field/site visits
- Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
