About Archaea
Archaea Energy, a leader in the landfill gas to energy industry, has an immediate opening for a Plant Operator/Technician at our Emerald plant in Graham, WA. Candidates should have 1‑5 years of operation & maintenance experience on mobile or stationary engine generator sets up to 1500 kW, with specific experience monitoring plant operations, performing maintenance and repairs on CAT G3500 and G3600 gas engines or similar piston engines, controls, generators, and ancillary equipment.
IntroductoryEmployment Period
Your employment will begin with a 90‑day introductory period to support transition and allow assessment of performance, conduct, and reliability. During this time, performance will be evaluated against criteria listed below. Successful completion confirms at‑will employment; otherwise, employment may be terminated at the end of the probationary period.

- Perform facility inspections, maintenance, and repairs of plant equipment
- Monitor and adjust plant system controls to improve performance and prevent equipment failure
- Respond to plant alarms, implement shutdown and startup procedures
- Maintain plant compliance with state and federal permitting; complete reporting requirements
- Perform maintenance tasks such as repair or replacement of worn or broken parts and equipment
- Maintain and document daily, weekly, monthly logs and reports (unit conditions, maintenance, operations, performance, and downtime)
- Order and purchase inventory of tools, parts, fluids, and supplies for plant operations
- Communicate and coordinate plant activities with clients (utility company and landfill personnel)
- Assist other company facilities as advised by management
- Complete all company and regulatory training
- Perform random security inspections and checks around the plant
- Record and store landfill tuning data as needed
- Adjust/tune well field as needed to improve gas quantity and quality

- 1‑5 years of operation and maintenance experience on mobile or stationary engine generator sets up to 1500 kW
- Ability to read and interpret operations and safety manuals, and apply basic troubleshooting and repair techniques
- Digital literacy in Word, Excel, PLC, and email systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability for overtime as required
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, crouch, bend, kneel, and work in loud, hot environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Pre‑employment drug test and background check required for this safety‑sensitive position
Base pay: $29–$33 per hour.
- Paid vacation ranging from 120–240 hours per year for full‑time employees (60–240 hours for part‑time)
