Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Material Handler to join our Logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility — from delivery to storage, production, and shipping. You will also play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory within our ERP system, preparing documentation, and supporting on-time order fulfillment.
This position is ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, organized, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Follow all safety requirements and actively participate in safety programs (talks, observations, audits, etc.).
- Load and unload trucks, railcars, and bulk shipments while meeting customer requirements.
- Transport materials to designated storage locations, the production floor, or shipping areas.
- Perform all tasks associated with material movement, including delivery, storage, and shipment preparation.
- Review incoming products against purchase orders and check for damage or shortages; report discrepancies.
- Label, weigh, and spot-check incoming and outgoing materials as required.
- Create, review, and maintain accurate documentation (BOLs, labels, barcodes, etc.).
- Manage and record inventory transactions in ERP (receipts, issues, adjustments, transfers).
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2–5 years of shipping, receiving, or material handling experience using a forklift (manufacturing or logistics setting preferred).
- ERP experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing demands, and maintain attention to detail.
- Basic inventory control and planning knowledge.
- Work performed primarily indoors with potential exposure to warehouse and production‑related hazards.
- Moderate noise levels; PPE required when applicable.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move materials safely.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Perform bending, kneeling, climbing, twisting, and lifting (minimum 55 lbs.).
