Job Summary:
To assist in the overall operation of the extrusion process as determined by the Press Team Leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment around the entire extrusion area
- Identify and report safety concerns to the Extrusion Manager
- Identify and report maintenance needs to Extrusion Manager
- Assist with preventive maintenance on all extrusion equipment
- To assume the duties of any press team member for break and lunch periods as well as in the case of absences
- To assist in the duties of any press team member as needed when workload becomes to great to complete in a timely manner
- Interpretation of production schedules, work orders and drawings
- Maintain a good attendance record
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of extrusion production processes
- Good communication in a team environment
- Critical thinking skills
- Must be goal oriented in order to achieve daily production targets
Education and/or Experience: High School diploma preferred, 2 years of experience in an extrusion setting.
Language/Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and work with team members in a bilingual environment (with the use of an interpreter as needed). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Computer Skills:
- Ability to operate computer and/or electronic based machine controls as well as basic computer skills for the use of production software.
Compensation:
