Position Overview
We are hiring an on‑site Field Service Technician in Coppell, TX. The Field Service Technician will provide support to our customers and deliver on all the services and offerings, Entrust contracts with our customers. They provide both preventative and emergency maintenance, and ensure the equipment at the customer sites is in proper working order. The Field Service Technician will perform the accountabilities detailed below and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform high quality preventative and emergency maintenance services on Entrust equipment.
- Work autonomously to test, diagnose and resolve issues on systems that may include mechanical embossers, thermal image application and laminating, magstripe and chip data writing, ultraviolet curing.
- Daily repairs may include cleaning rollers, sensors, cavities, calibrating sensors and data read/write devices, application pressure, etc.; evaluating and replacing parts for wear and misalignment (servo, stepper motors, spindles, clutches, belts, bearings, etc.); evaluating and replacing temperature, proximity or position sensors; software adjustments for temperature and hardware positioning; using repair and service manuals to troubleshoot card printer systems; using test equipment such as voltmeter and laptop;
using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc. - Maintain accurate and proper trunk inventory levels.
- Follow established processes for service activity reporting and call management.
- Accept, organize, and respond to service calls using a dispatch system.
- Interact with customer operations staff; be reliably timely and display a positive attitude.
- Demonstrate customer‑relation skills for independent resolution of most situations without management assistance; continually improve customer relations; adjust to customer culture in communication, dress code, and compliance with their behavioral standards while modeling Entrust values.
- Participate in company‑sponsored personal development and quality initiatives; complete all required training; develop competency in required software and systems; assist less experienced personnel with difficult repair problems; share ideas and suggestions for process improvement.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of electromechanical technician experience.
- Proficient problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient with PCs, current operating systems and relevant software applications.
- Ability and willingness to drive to multiple customer sites daily to complete assigned work.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, shifts, assignments and travel when required, including temporary off‑site short‑term assignments in other locations.
- Willingness to be on‑call.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and spend the majority of the shift bending, stooping, walking.
- Overtime is required as needed.
- Associate’s degree in electronics or related field or equivalent verifiable training.
- Additional electromechanical technician or field service experience and Entrust central issuance.
- Advanced technical education.
- Proficient in electro‑mechanics, digital electronics and software required to maintain Entrust and third‑party products.
- Skilled with tools and electronic test equipment.
Starting hourly rate: $22.68–$35.65 (in the primary posting location). Additional annual incentive plan and benefits including medical, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, life and disability insurance, paid personal time off, holidays and education reimbursement.
