Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED and preferred for other subjects).

Skills Needed: Skills Effective written and verbal communication skills, excellent teaching skills, interpersonal relations skills, time management and organizational skills, administrative skills, problem-solving skills, research skills, and extensive knowledge of various teaching materials. He/she must also be compassionate, patient, observant, detail-oriented, creative and think outside the box.

Skills Needed: JOB SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required; preschool CDA preferred

Experience and Skills Required:
One year experience working with young children required

Must demonstrate desire to work with young children, have general knowledge of “normal” growth and development

Must demonstrate ability to work as a team member and work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers

Must demonstrate good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills

Regular and prompt attendance required.

Travel: Minimal travel required.






Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must have reliable transportation; valid Texas driver’s license, proof of liability insurance and driving record acceptable to CCG’s automobile liability insurance carrier

Annual TB test and physical examination every two years required

Work requires normal physical effort, visual attention, manual dexterity or coordination; any lifting restricted to items or children weighing up to 50 lbs.

Normal classroom environment with children and a minimum amount of hazards

Contacts:  Contacts are with other classroom teacher(s), administrative staff, and children, parents and families.
