Job Summary /PurposeWorkplace:
The Woodlands, TX. This onsite position in The Woodlands, TX does not provide relocation assistance or sponsorship. The role may be filled as an EMO Mkt Res Operator I, II, Sr, or Sr Lead depending on qualifications and experience.
This position provides 24x7 Real‑Time Operations support and manages the status of Entergy’s generation fleet in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) in compliance with the MISO Energy and Operating Reserves Market Tariff and associated Business Practice Manuals (BPMs). Responsibilities include submitting generation facility overrides and offers in the MISO Energy and Operating Reserve Markets, managing gas contract flows, Demand Response (DR) products, and identifying opportunities to maximize economic benefit for stakeholders.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Manage real‑time operations of Entergy’s generation portfolio, including submitting overrides, updating resource offers, and determining when to add or remove equipment to respond to changing market conditions while maintaining internal setpoint compliance measures.
- Coordinate resource availability, testing, outage schedules, startup and shutdown times, and communicate all necessary information to generating plant personnel, market operations, fuel supply personnel, MISO, and TCC.
- Manage gas contract flows for our Little Gypsy, Ninemile, and Waterford plant sites 24/7 to balance flows and daily nominations of natural gas.
- Deploy Demand Response (DR) products such as LMRs, DRR Type I & II resources and utilize a backup generator management system in the MISO Energy and Operating Reserve Markets.
- Manage long‑term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for generation facilities in real‑time.
- Communicate resource status updates to stakeholders using Entergy’s internal notification system.
- Reserve transmission using the Open Access Same Time Information System (OASIS) and submit energy transactions using the Electronic Tagging (E‑Tag) system.
- Monitor alarms and dispatch for solar assets.
- Train other Market Resource Operators; review, maintain, create, and update procedures and situational guides as assigned.
- Market Resource Operator I – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Market Resource Operator II – Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years equivalent experience in real‑time operations, power system dispatching, or power plant operations.
- Market Resource Operator Senior – Bachelor’s degree and/or 4+ years equivalent experience in real‑time operations, power system dispatching, or power plant operations.
- Market Resource Operator Senior Lead – Bachelor’s degree and/or 6+ years equivalent experience in real‑time operations, power system dispatching, or power plant operations.
- 0–2 years – Market Resource Operator I
- 2–4 years – Market Resource Operator II
- 4–6 years – Market Resource Operator Sr.
- 6+ years – Market Resource Operator Sr. Lead
- Proven analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities.

- Ability to communicate complex matters in a clear and logical manner.

Physical Requirements
Work a 12‑hour shift schedule as part of a 24/7, 7 days a week operation. Employees may be required to work additional hours, in alternate locations, or perform additional duties during storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations. Exempt employees may not receive overtime compensation for such duties.
Preferred CertificationNERC System Operator Certified – preferred.
