Job DescriptionJoin Teledyne Scientific & Imaging as a VCSEL Manufacturing Technician!
What You’ll Do- Assemble and test complex electro‑optical systems, including VCSEL devices, in an advanced cleanroom manufacturing and R&D environment
- Operate semiconductor process equipment such as pick‑and‑place, AuSn reflow soldering, wire bonding, epoxy die attach, and electro‑optical test systems
- Perform laser alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting at the component and system level
- Support process sustaining and new process development in collaboration with Engineering
- Contribute to yield, throughput, and process improvements using SPC and production tracking tools
- Support quality activities including DMRs, FAIs, inspections, and product pack‑out
- Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance to ensure high‑quality manufacturing operations
- High School Diploma with 3–5 years of experience in electronics, semiconductor processing, or cleanroom operations OR a recent graduate in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Materials Engineering
- Experience working from detailed technical drawings, Work Instructions, and process documentation
- Hands‑on experience with precision measurement tools and electro‑optical test equipment
- Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and outstanding visual acuity
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required due to facility access restrictions
