What will you do?
  • You will lead and drive successes on new business development as well as establishing strategic business expansion plans for assigned markets as agreed in the strategic focus for Japan;
  • You will focus strongly on developing and improving business relationships with senior leaders of key customers. Not only to help grow top line revenue, but also to ensure high quality standards and aligned business development to our customers in Japan;
  • You will be responsible and accountable for gross margin development and achievement for the business division to achieve and grow annual sales targets by canvassing new business pipelines, conversion and to support existing corporate account management, in line with the business strategy;
  • Together with Customer Service Delivery Team you will prepare operational protocols for new and/or changes to existing business;
  • You will lead the sales team to enhance performance through leading, motivating, coaching, training, leveraging, sharing information and job enrichment to meet and exceed department KPI targets;
  • You will ensure an actual database of our CMS (SalesForce), including quotations, prospective and actual sales but also competition rates , for you and your team;
  • You will make recommendations on how to improve customer service as a result of customer, shipping industry and BWS market analyses based on your market research/ surveys, tasting events and your in depth knowledge of the Japanese market;
  • What do we expect from you?

  • You have a proven track record in the field of freight forwarding and/ or shipping and/ or bulk liquid transportation;
  • You can show that you are able to identify and qualify opportunities and prioritize sales efforts to closing deals quickly;
  • You have a nose for optimizing profitability, by cross sell or upsell, by new discovering new market opportunities and are not afraid of creating them yourself;
  • You understand the market and you bring a solid network with customers, suppliers and industry partners;
  • You like to interact with different people and are good in creating and maintaining (customer) relationships;
  • You have a strong hunting mentality and result-focus;
  • You are comfortable in working with CRM systems.
  • You are a fluent writer and speaker of Japanese andEnglish.
