Under the direct supervision of the school administration and Special Education department head, the incumbent provides a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support, communicates information to school district employees and others as required, and assists in ensuring compliance of department/program activities with legal, administrative and District policy requirements.
Essential Functions- Assists with Special Education reporting needs.
- Creates and maintains a wide variety of manual and/or electronic files, records and materials (e.g. filing & scanning records for archive, due process, parental request, and other) to maintain legal requirements of district activity as related to Special Education.
- Maintains and coordinates program calendar of activities with all involved personnel.
- Maintains an inventory of items (e.g. assistive technology, electronic equipment, procedure manuals, forms, etc.) for coordination of usage and documentation.
- Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. filing, scheduling, ordering, copying, faxing) to support department staff.
- Prepares a variety of reports and related documents to provide documentation and information.
- Processes documents and materials to disseminate information to appropriate parties.
- Responds to written and verbal inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. parents, other schools and districts, vendors, candidates, community) to provide information and/or direction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, scanner, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
Travel RequirementsLimited travel to and from meetings and trainings may be required.

- Knowledge of laws and regulations, District policies and procedures, principles, guidelines, and best practices related to the department.
- Successful experience with office management in a related area preferred.
- Knowledge in any or all of the following programs is helpful:
Excel, Microsoft Word, Embrace. - Must be 21 years of age or older.
29 hours per week – time card position
