Overview

This position is responsible for leading design and execution of projects for Tim Hortons US in all restaurant formats, including architecture and interior design. The role involves working with internal teams and consultants to develop site-specific plans and solutions aligned with internal design guidelines across various projects and markets. Strong communication of design to restaurant owner groups and internal clients via written, visual, technological, and verbal means is required.

Design capabilities include planning and coordinating, selecting commercial-grade material specifications, fixtures, lighting, millwork, and furniture. Collaboration with North American and International Architecture & Design Leads, Operations, Procurement, Real Estate and Development Teams is essential to develop prototypes and specifications.

Responsibilities

Work with Architectural Consultants to adapt and apply design standards to specific projects that modernize the brand and improve the guest experience.

Demonstrate drawing and sketching skills including space planning, exterior concept elevations, and interior concept elevations/renderings.

Presents and works directly with Restaurant Owner Clients to review and edit schematic designs and guide them through the design development process.

Develop and present conceptual and schematic design ideas that advance the brand image while collaborating with consultants on solutions for diverse business needs.

Generate visualizations of proposed ideas/concepts.

Participate in meetings with consultants and executives to understand and respond to a wide range of projects and project types.

Review and approve prototypical shop drawings and/or physical samples from vendors (e.g., millwork, furniture, materials, artwork, and graphics).

Occasional travel to meet and collaborate with Franchisees, team members, consultants, and suppliers, and to review in-market execution.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Interior Design or Architecture.

5+ years’ experience in architecture or interior design, including design development, space planning, rendering, drafting and presentations.

Proficient in AutoCAD (v.2018 and/or newer).

Sketch Up or other 3D modeling/rendering software, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Design experience in retail and/or restaurant development.

Experience working with and managing design consultants and clients.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 CAD. Salary may vary based on experience, education, location, and skills. Eligible for the Company s annual discretionary bonus plan, based on individual and company performance, and may be eligible for equity grants under the Company s long-term incentive plan.

Work Schedule and Benefits
This posting is for an existing vacancy. RBI follows a 5-day in-office work schedule; successful candidates are expected to work onsite 5 days per week.
