Effective July 1, 2026, one full‑time permanent faculty position as an Academic Clinician is available in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON. Sick Kids is an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to infants, children and adolescents, affiliated with the Temerity Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (GHN) comprises 18 highly collegial faculty members, who provide tertiary/qua ternary‑care clinical programs and maintain a high volume, high‑impact research output in one of the leading GI divisions in North America.

Clinical Responsibilities: Provide excellent clinical care, including contribution to GHN inpatient services (both consult and GHN ward services). Perform diagnostic and interventional GI endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, dilatation, polypectomy, interventions for bleeding control). Attend outpatient clinics focused on luminal GI, including eosinophilic disorders, and participate in the on‑call schedule, all within a tertiary/qua ternary care environment. The ability to conduct interventional endoscopic procedures is mandatory.

Academic Responsibilities: Teach and mentor fellows within the GHN fellowship training program and conduct clinical research. Opportunities for teaching in other academic programs and engagement in clinical quality improvement initiatives are also available.

Appointment, Salary and Benefits: The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($275,571–$350,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, long‑term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package.

Eligibility: All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent, be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
