Role Summary We are currently hiring an Analyst to join the Growth Equity team in Toronto. The Growth Equity mandate is to generate strong returns for CPP Investments through fund commitments and GP‑aligned direct co‑investments alongside leading venture capital and growth equity managers across North America and Europe.
Accountabilities Support the evaluation, execution, and management of fund investments and direct co‑investments.
Conduct market, industry, company, and fund research to identify investment opportunities, risks, and emerging trends.
Build financial models, assess investment returns, and perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to support investment decisions.
Participate in investment due diligence, including management meetings, reference calls, and engagement with fund managers and industry participants.
Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and support materials for internal investment discussions and decision‑making.
Monitor portfolio companies and fund investments, supporting ongoing asset management and performance tracking activities.
Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, management teams, advisors, and internal stakeholders across CPP Investments.
Research emerging technology and AI trends, assessing their implications for investment opportunities, portfolio companies, and the broader venture and growth equity ecosystem.
Contribute to strategic initiatives and collaborate with colleagues across the Growth Equity team, Private Equity platform, and broader organization.
Qualifications Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
1‑2 years of relevant experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, growth equity, asset management, technology, engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated interest in investing, technology, innovation, and evaluating businesses, markets, and emerging trends.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including experience conducting research, financial analysis, valuation, and investment due diligence.
Demonstrated experience building financial models and developing insights to support investment recommendations and decision‑making.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear investment insights, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Curiosity about emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, and an interest in understanding their impact on businesses, industries, and investment opportunities.
Experience implementing AI‑enabled tools across the investments process to enhance research, analysis, and decision‑making is considered an asset.
