Migration Manager/Project Coordinator

Duration: 12 months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Migration Manager to act as the primary coordinator between Project Managers, application teams, infrastructure SMEs, and vendors to support migration delivery. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in role- Identify application owners and map system dependencies to support migration planning
- Validate migration scope, including applications, hosts, and environments
- Develop and manage migration schedules and wave plans, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders
- Coordinate migration timelines and readiness across application, engineering, and vendor teams
- Present migration plans and walk application teams through runbooks, ensuring clarity on roles and expectations
- Facilitate readiness sessions and ensure all prerequisites are met prior to migration
- Perform and coordinate pre-migration health checks with SMEs
- Support go/no-go decision-making and coordinate execution of migration cutovers
- Lead real-time coordination during migration windows, including after-hours and weekend activities
- Manage change-related activities, including creating change tickets and supporting CAB coordination
- Track progress, maintain RAID logs, and provide ongoing status reporting
- Maintain migration documentation, including runbooks and execution logs
- Proactively escalated risks, issues, and blockers to ensure timely resolution
- Coordinate post-migration testing, validation, and signoffs with application teams
- Manage and resolve issues encountered during and after migration execution
- 0–3 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or IT delivery
- Intermediate experience with Excel (pivot tables, data comparison)
- Experience with MS Office tools – Outlook, MS Teams, Power Point
- Exposure to IT infrastructure or migration projects
- Experience with tools such as MS Project, Power
BI, Service Now
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High learning agility, initiative, and ownership mindset
- Comfortable working under pressure and during critical migration windows
Post-Secondary an asset - Experience is prioritized
