- Carry out work study

- Develop and carry out health, safety and fire prevention plans
- Develop computer applications for machines and processes
- Collect and compile operational or experimental data
- Collect and analyze data and samples
- Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Report any malfunctions to supervisor
- Perform X-rays and other tests
- Monitor and inspect work
- Inspect and evaluate material and equipment for compliance to standards
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors
- Conduct voltage, resistance and other tests using electrical test equipment
- Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
- Perform pre-production runs of binding or finishing jobs to verify output and to ensure that product specifications are met
- Ensure safety procedures are followed
