Food Safety & Sanitation Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Food Safety & Sanitation Supervisor to oversee and lead both the Food Safety/Quality and Sanitation functions within our bakery manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the facility maintains the highest standards of food safety, product quality, sanitation, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
This is a critical leadership role that requires direct experience in both food safety/quality assurance and sanitation management within bakery manufacturing and/or food manufacturing environments. Bakery manufacturing experience is mandatory.
The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Operations, and the Quality Control team to support safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations in a fast-paced 24/7 facility.
Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality Oversight- Oversee food safety and quality systems within the bakery manufacturing facility.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, allergen control programs, SQF/BRC standards, CFIA/FDA regulations, and internal food safety policies.
- Support and provide leadership to Quality Control activities and personnel.
- Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, consistency, and specification compliance.
- Lead investigations related to food safety incidents, non-conformances, customer complaints, and corrective actions.
- Maintain audit readiness and support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Review and maintain food safety documentation, records, SOPs, and compliance programs.
- Promote and strengthen food safety culture throughout the facility.
- Lead and oversee all sanitation operations across the facility.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Master Sanitation Schedules and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure equipment, production lines, and facility areas are cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
- Supervise and support sanitation employees and ensure proper training and compliance with sanitation procedures.
- Conduct sanitation inspections, environmental monitoring, and verification activities.
- Manage sanitation chemicals, inventory, safety procedures, and supplier coordination.
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure efficient sanitation execution with minimal downtime.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation leadership within bakery manufacturing and/or food manufacturing.
- Direct bakery manufacturing experience is mandatory.

- Experience leading sanitation programs and food safety audits in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and QA documentation systems.
