Become a vital part of an innovative surgical team as a Registered Practical Nurse. This role focuses on comprehensive patient care within an inpatient surgery unit, enabling high-quality outcomes through advanced practices.
As a Registered Practical Nurse in the Surgical Inpatient Unit, you will leverage your nursing expertise and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include administering medications, performing wound care, and conducting patient health teaching. Applicants should possess a strong foundation in nursing, preferably with acute surgical experience and a commitment to equity and inclusion principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care in the surgical inpatient unit
• Administer medications and perform intravenous therapy
• Conduct patient health teaching and education
• Execute wound care and dressing changes
• Document patient progress and communicate with healthcare team
Requirements:
• Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing
• Current registration with the nursing college
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
• At least 1 year of acute surgical experience
• Knowledge of community resources is an advantage
