Toronto Street Food Bank Assistant

Become a key support worker at Daily Bread Food Bank’s New Toronto Street Food Bank. This full-time role focuses on direct client assistance, food distribution, and volunteer coordination.

The New Toronto Street Food Bank Worker position is a full-time, 8-week contract aimed at individuals aged 15 to 30. You will assist with client intake, food orders, and provide essential guidance to volunteers. This role requires physical stamina, including lifting, bending, and stocking products throughout each shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily operations of food bank programs

• Place and receive food orders for distribution

• Conduct client intake and assessments directly

• Provide referrals for additional client support services

• Supervise and train volunteers effectively

Requirements:

• Must be between 15 and 30 years old

• Canadian citizen or permanent resident status

• Valid Social Insurance Number required

• Experience in social work or community service preferred

• Ability to lift up to 20lbs and stand for long periods
