Registered Nurse – Oncology (Infusion/Outpatient) Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic outpatient/infusion center setting. The RN will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive treatments while providing high-quality care to oncology and hematology patients. This role requires strong clinical expertise in oncology nursing, patient education, and symptom management in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

RequirementsRequirements:
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (within the last 3 years preferred)
Experience managing patient ratios of 1:6
Epic charting experience required
BLS certification required
ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification preferred
No prior travel experience required
Clinical Skills & Experience:
Chemotherapy administration (IV push, infusion, oral, continuous)
Immunotherapy/biotherapy administration and monitoring (preferred)
Management of chemotherapy side effects and cytotoxic precautions
Experience with:
Central lines, PICC lines, and port access/management
Blood and blood product administration
IV therapy, infusions, and hydration
Knowledge of oncologic emergencies such as:
Tumor Lysis Syndrome, Sepsis, Anaphylaxis, Spinal Cord Compression (preferred)
Strong symptom management skills including:
Nausea/vomiting, pain, neuropathy, mucositis, and fatigue
Familiarity with radiation therapy support and safety (preferred)
Patient Care Expertise:
Experience caring for patients with:
Breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, ovarian, pancreatic, and hematologic cancers (preferred)
Knowledge of:
Neutropenic precautions and infection control
Psychosocial support, hospice care, and patient/family education
Ability to coordinate care and perform telephone triage
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
Active RN license (state-specific as required)
Prior oncology and/or infusion center experience preferred
Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting
High attention to detail and patient safety
