Duties, Responsibilities & OtherKCI is seeking a Senior Land Development Manager to join our growing Land Development team in Towson, Maryland. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in civil land development who is excited to lead teams, manage complex private-sector projects, and play a key role in expanding client relationships in the local market. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery from concept through construction, mentor and develop staff, and support business development efforts while ensuring high-quality design and client service.
- Assist Practice Leader with providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance development to a team of engineers and planners.
- Serve as Project Manager for civil land development projects, with a strong preference for experience building teams.
- Plan, develop, and deliver large, complex private-sector land development projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of complete civil design packages, including coordination across multiple design disciplines.
- Direct the development of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs, and construction cost estimates in accordance with applicable state design manuals and standard drawings.
- Prepare and manage proposals, including scope, schedule, and fee development, as well as contract administration and project billing.
- Maintain strong technical expertise in civil land development design; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Actively participate in business development efforts, leveraging local client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Train, mentor, and develop staff to support both individual growth and long-term team success.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required
