General Duties
Medical physician to provide high-quality treatment and diagnostic services in mental illnesses. May employ individual or group therapy to gain insight into a patient's past and find coping methods to help patients address their own problems. Some may require medications or hospitalization. Psychiatrists who work with hospitalized patients collaborate with other professionals to design treatment plans and monitor progress.

Psychiatrists need strong communication skills. They should be knowledgeable about psychology and sociology, which help them identify behavioral patterns. Psychiatrists may need to interview individuals closely related to a patient, such as parents, children, or spouses.

Accountable for evaluating symptoms, assessing, recommends surgery depending on the disorder and develop a treatment plan for patients. Providing patients with health care services that meet state and national standards in the medical profession. They are responsible for prescribing patients with appropriate medication for treatment, health regimens and lifestyle adjustments that will contribute to their recovery from diagnosed health issues, prevent future health issues and/or promote a healthier life.
Responsibilities
Analyzing, examining, and investigating patients and their medical histories for signs and symptoms of medical and psychosocial conditions.
Evaluate patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; and ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
Discussing diagnosis with patients, explaining treatment options, and giving advice on medications, lifestyle and dietary changes, and other preventative measures.
Carrying out follow-up appointments, monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans and medications, and updating patient records.
Develops treatment plans by determining the nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders and establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
Treats patients by utilizing psychotherapeutic methods and medications; discussing progress toward goals with patients; providing instructions; monitoring effect of medications; and supervising staff provision of services.
Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews; and remaining available for emergency consultations.
Improves staff competence by providing training and discussions regarding the interrelationship between psychosocial and physiological problems, psychotropic medications, crisis intervention, and related issues.
Maintain historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and writing summaries.
Keep abreast of advancements in their specialization as Psychiatrist and best practices by attending seminars and conferences
Be prepared to leave at the end of the day only after patient care is completed.
Be willing to sign off on PA and Nurse Practitioner notes as well as review lab results and imaging studies during downtime (non-patient care periods during the clinical shift).
Maintain a professional appearance.
Understand the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA and OSHA.
Position Requirements
Doctorate,   5 to 6 Years work experience
Qualifications
Licensed in the state
Strong analytical abilities to provide accurate diagnoses.
Excellent decision making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and researching skills.
Experience with EHR (electronic health records) preferred
Proficiency with computers and medical equipment.
Ability to speak multiple languages will be advantageous.
Must have a criminal background check.

Education
Completion of a psychiatric residency or a family medicine/psychiatry residency in an ACGME approved residency program
Obtained license in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry)
Valid state medical license as MD or DO
Valid DEA certificate
Experience
5+ years’ experience in the field of Psychiatry
