Production Manager, Operations Engineer
Job Description
You will be the Manufacturing Planner Supervisor for the Production, Planning and Control organization. Our team is responsible for managing the internal Make Planning and Material Handling team within one of the production buildings on site.
ResponsibilitiesAs the Manufacturing Planner Supervisor you will be responsible for leading the manufacturing planning, production support, and material handling teams to ensure efficient production operations.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manufacturing planning and scheduling to meet production demands
- Production support to ensure smooth operations
- Material handling and distribution to the production floor
- Continuous improvement through Production Management Teams and operational metrics
- Management and staffing of approximately 5-7 direct reports
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in production, logistics, supply chain, or inventory control
- Experience with SAP or an MRP equivalent
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance and must have a final secret clearance prior to starting
- Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background check to obtain approval to be an employee possessor (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items); failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment
- Demonstrated ability and experience communicating with peers, leadership, and internal customers effectively on multiple platforms (face‑to‑face, virtually, email, Teams, etc.)
- Previous leadership experience
- Experience/understanding of managing budgets
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge of computer systems, office applications and warehouse management systems
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make effective decisions
- Working knowledge of Apriso Warehouse Management
- Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control Manufacturing operations experience
- Experience and understanding of establishing performance metrics commensurate with role
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified
This position requires a government security clearance; a US Citizen is required. Clearance Level: Secret.
Location and SchedulePosition is in Troy, Alabama. The work will be performed onsite full‑time.
Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
