Position SummaryTEC is seeking a Senior Industrial Hygiene Technician with 3-5 years of experience to support asbestos inspections, air monitoring, and abatement oversight projects throughout Michigan. This is a hands‑on, hybrid office/field‑driven position suited for someone who is reliable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working on active job sites.

- Perform asbestos inspections and bulk sampling in accordance with state requirements
- Assist with project management, proposals, and technical review
- Provide on‑site asbestos abatement oversight as a Contractor/Supervisor
- Complete daily field documentation, logs, and sample tracking
- Assist with report preparation and data entry
- Calibrate and maintain field equipment
- Coordinate with contractors and clients in the field
- Follow all TEC safety procedures and applicable OSHA/MIOSHA regulations
- Travel to job sites across Michigan (some early mornings and variable hours expected)
- 3-5 years of relevant field experience in industrial hygiene or asbestos consulting
- Michigan Asbestos Inspector certification (required)
- Michigan Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor certification (required)
- Experience with asbestos regulations and air sampling methods
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate field documentation
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- 40-hour HAZWOPER (current)
- Additional certifications (Lead Inspection/Risk Assessment Certification, IAQ/Mold experience)
- Experience with PCM air sampling and basic report writing.
- Experience with Due Diligence/Environmental Sampling (Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, Due Care, BEAs)
- Ability to perform field work in active construction and abatement environments
- Ability to wear respirators and PPE as required
- Ability to climb ladders, access tight spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
