Brake Machinist - 2nd Shift

Job Overview

Location:

Troy, OH (101 Waco St). Shift: 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00PM–11:00PM.

• Obtain job assignments from supervisor or job assignment book, including piece quantity and special instructions.
• Read and follow standard operating procedures, engineering process sheets, and manufacturing specifications.
• Pre‑set tooling as needed for the job.
• Set up equipment using routings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Machine components on assigned machines and inspect for blueprint compliance.
• Work with management to improve and document machining processes.
• Order gauge materials to support production.
• Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, including machine tools, workbenches, floors, and hand tools.
• Oil machines and check/maintain operating levels of fluids and machine materials (coolant, filters, oil).
• Move materials between workstations, cells, and the warehouse to maintain workflow.
• Complete approval tickets, consult with inspection for first‑piece approval, and record data as required.
• Retrieve items from the tool crib and complete necessary forms/transactions.
• Attend training classes, cell meetings, and perform other tasks assigned by management.

• High‑school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year CNC experience or completion of a machining certificate or degree (transcripts or certificate/diploma required).
• Experience working with technical documents (routing, blueprints, engineering process specifications, written work instructions).
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division).
• Physical requirements:
  
  substantial reaching, moving, twisting, stooping; lift up to 25lb unassisted, higher weights must be assisted.
• Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Adherence to all EH&S roles and responsibilities.
