Manufacturing Engineer
USAF E-7 Manufacturing Planner (Associate or Mid-Level) – The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), located in Tukwila, Washington.
Associate Responsibilities- Develops, implements and maintains manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials (BOM), work instructions, and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.
- Assists with development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
- Reviews supplier data to ensure manufacturing-related requirements are met.
- Identifies tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements.
- Assists in tooling dispositions.
- Investigates and resolves manufacturing-related issues of limited scope.
- Assists in producibility assessments for part or product designs.
- Provides input to design, manufacturing processes and technologies to meet cost and schedules.
- Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
- Reviews, maintains and monitors internal documents.
- Delivers shipside reach-back support to production teams as needed to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
- Works under general supervision.
- Develops, implements and maintains manufacturing plans, BOM, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration.
- Creates manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives.
- Integrates suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.
- Reviews and approves supplier data to ensure manufacturing-related requirements are met.
- Develops tooling requirements and manages tools from initial design to end of use disposition.
- Investigates and resolves manufacturing-related issues.
- Performs producibility assessments for part or product designs.
- Provides producibility input to design, manufacturing processes and technologies to meet cost and schedules.
- Develops integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments.
- Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements.
- Delivers shipside reach-back support to production teams as needed to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
- Works under general direction.
- Level 2: AA degree in a related discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Level 3: AA degree in a related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience planning in manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Experience using ENOVIA / CATIA.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience as a BDS Manufacturing Planner.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci) Development program.
- Ability to perform minor electrical and electronic modifications.
- Proactive communication skillset.

- Base pay ranges:
- Associate (Level2): $65,450 – $88,550
- Mid‑Level (Level3): $78,200 – $105,800
- Eligibility and specific programs vary by geographic location, date of hire, and collective bargaining agreements.
Requires ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required). Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
