About the role
You will support plasma center operations as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. Your duties include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and communicating results to donors. You will also execute SOPs for medical emergencies, support employee vaccination programs, manage workplace incidents, and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when required.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions in accordance with SOPs.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduate-level nursing education with state requirements.
- Current registered nurse (RN), nurse practitioner (NP), or physician assistant (PA) license in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA-approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

USA - WA - Tukwila U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $44.00 - $60.50.
