Objective
Ensures that
1) tank heads are beveled and tapered in accordance with the specifications set out on their Job Travelers and
2) the measurements of the finished tank heads fall within the allowed tolerances.
Monday-Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Overtime as required.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Follow shop safety and environmental rules
- Machine heads and dies to specific tolerances using manual vertical and horizontal lathes.
- Report quality issues, including defects and damage to the supervisor in charge
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to accomplish objectives
- Comply with the industry standards and safety regulations
- Complete all tasks as delegated by the supervisor in charge
- Manage time and work efficiently to meet production deadlines
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Move materials with a forklift
- Follows directions and is receptive to learning new skills
- Interacts effectively with co-workers
- Understands and complies with posted rules and procedures

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme temperatures, airborne particles or fumes, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
Physical Demands- Lift, carry, push, and or pull 1 – 50 lbs. frequently.
- Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp, climb a ladder, and reach overhead and outward frequently.
- Work in an industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate personal protective equipment.
- The work environment may include excessive temperatures.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain a valid driver’s license & proof of insurance
- The following are the general guidelines for hiring into the three levels for this position:
- 0-2 years of previous manufacturing experience
- 2-4 years of previous manufacturing experience
- 4 years of previous manufacturing experience
- Ability to read job specifications, instructions, policies, procedures, rules, posted notices and warnings, safety guidelines, and other work-related materials written primarily or exclusively in English
- Ability to read part drawings
- Familiarity with basic measurement methods
- Ability to interact and work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers
- Keeps knowledge and skills current
