Are you passionate about creating a safe and productive work environment? Do you have a knack for identifying potential hazards and implementing effective solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent EHS Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations and processes meet or exceed all required safety and environmental regulations.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, NFPA, HAZOM, stormwater, and wastewater.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor company environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with management and staff to enforce safety procedures and foster a culture of safety awareness.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all EHS activities, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory documents.
  • Conduct employee training on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in EHS regulations and best practices, and ensure that the company's EHS programs are updated accordingly.
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations, including environmental spills and occupational injuries.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and represent the company during inspections and audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA 30-HR, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, NFPA, HAZOM, 29cfr, 40cfr, 49 cfr, stormwater, and wastewater.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
  • Detail‑oriented, with strong organizational and record‑keeping skills.
