This is a highly visible contract Technical Trainer role delivering EV safety training to manufacturers and operators across multiple industries. We serve both the automotive sector and a range of other industries transitioning to electric vehicles and equipment. Position Summary

The EV Safety Technical Trainer (Contract) delivers instructor-led hands-on training focused on electric vehicle and high-voltage safety. This role reports to the Technical Training Manager and serves as a front-line technical ambassador for DEKRA’s EV Safety portfolio.

You will be responsible for facilitating engaging, technically accurate training programs for professionals working on or around EV systems—ensuring alignment with NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.

Travel is required.

What You Will Do
  • Deliver EV and high-voltage safety training across industries including aviation, automotive, marine, heavy equipment, industrial fleets, and specialty vehicles.
  • Facilitate in-person hands-on technical training sessions.
  • Establish credibility quickly with both technical and non-technical audiences through confident, engaging facilitation.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EV safety, high-voltage systems, and battery operations.
  • Apply NFPA 70E and OSHA requirements to real-world EV safety scenarios.
  • Support course updates and continuous improvement in collaboration with DEKRA instructional designers.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to assist with content development, technical visuals, and scenario-based learning assets.
  • Prepare training materials, participant guides, and technical demonstrations as required.
  • Travel to customer sites, training facilities, and industry locations as needed.
Required Technical Expertise
  • Electric vehicle (EV) technology and high-voltage systems
  • Arc flash risk awareness and mitigation.
  • Battery systems and related operations (lithium-ion, lead acid, and equivalent)
  • Electrical safety for those working on or around energized systems.
  • Application of safety standards in industrial and operational environments
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical training or facilitation to adult learners.
  • Hands‑on experience with EV systems, high‑voltage technology, or electrified equipment
  • NFPA 70E certification (required)
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to electrical and EV safety.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills; comfortable leading technical discussions
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (and occasionally internationally)
  • Proficiency with digital tools and learning technologies
  • Ability to incorporate AI tools to support content creation and training delivery.
Preferred Background
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries:
    • Aviation
    • Marine
    • Heavy equipment or industrial vehicles
    • Specialty or commercial electric vehicles
  • Automotive EV experience (helpful and transferable)
  • Prior Train-the-Trainer or workforce development experience
  • Experience working with manufacturers and end users.
  • Exposure to blended learning or technical eLearning environments
