Role Purpose: The Quality Engineer is responsible for support and improvement of System and Solutions Business manufacturing operations. This includes daily line support providing issue resolution, quality planning, process audits and proactive continuous improvement activities to ensure quality levels meet internal and external customer expectations. The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading efforts to monitor, analyze and improve SSB Operations metrics for quality. They are also an active participant in directing, controlling, and analyzing the operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive efforts to improve internal defects per unit (DPU), SSB external customer and field issues, Order change notices (OCN) and improve overall quality in the manufacturing operations across 5 sites in North America.
• Establish appropriate inspection\test methods and equipment to validate product and process characteristics.
• Develop and evaluate processes and manufacturing documentation using process audits and other quality tools with the objective or improving process performance and capability. Lead quality certification audits.
• Responsible for investigating project quality issues providing appropriate containment.
• Uses standard problem-solving techniques and tools to lead the team to identify root cause and develop corrective and preventative actions.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with business units, customer service, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, and production associates.
• Prepare, maintain, and present quality reports to multiple levels of the organization. Readouts must include identified root cause, documented corrective actions and a clear path to resolving issues.
• Participate with the team to develop, modify, maintain, and follow quality standards as established by the CLient QMS system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015.
• Provide mentoring, direction and training to manufacturing associates to improve quality key performance indicators.
• Review, maintain and own the 125-workmanship standard across five SSB locations, Panel shops and OES sites in North America.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
• Must have a BS degree in a technical discipline. Degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience
• Must have advanced data analysis including knowledge of advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities.
• Must have ISO documentation systems knowledge and experience.
• Previous experience with Engineered to Order Projects and / or Drive systems, processes, and products preferred.
• Familiarity with IFS preferred

• Travel to 5 or more different locations multiple times a year will be required.
• Willingness to stay beyond regular working hours due to customer demands.
• Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standard of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO9000 & 14000, governmental regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the CLient Information Network.
