Quantitative Analytics and Model Consultant - Credit Scoring and Originations

Position Overview

As a Quantitative Analytics and Model Consultant within PNC's Model Risk Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Tysons Corner, VA. You will perform rigorous independent reviews of PNC's models including loss forecasting, stress testing, scoring and other models estimated by machine‑learning techniques. You will write reports and memos, and become a lead author and owner of various model reviews.

• Experience developing or validating applied models within the financial services industry, government, or academic setting.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with model testing and estimation tools in Python, R, SQL, SAS, etc.
• Experience with credit scoring and origination preferred.

• Performs complex quantitative analyses and develops models to support decision‑making by running quantitative strategies.
• Develops new model frameworks and refines, monitors, and validates existing models.
• Conducts ongoing communication with model owners and developers during the review process.
• Works with large data sets to create models.
• Performs advanced qualitative and quantitative assessments on all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design and implementation, and data quality and integrity.
• Reviews reports and associated quantitative analysis.
• Validates existing models and assesses model risks.
• Evaluates identified model risks and reaches conclusions on strengths and limitations of the model.
• Prepares and analyzes detailed documents for validation and regulatory compliance, using applicable templates.

Roles at this level typically require a university or college degree, with 5+ years of industry‑relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
