The Company
We re partnered with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering contractor operating throughout Exeter, Devon, and Somerset. With continued growth and a strong regional reputation, the business delivers a wide range of complex infrastructure projects typically ranging from £5m to £40m in value.
Their workload spans:
- Major highways schemes
- Bridge and structural works
- Section 278 projects
- Infrastructure and public realm upgrades
- Road widening and realignment
- Junction improvement programmes
The Role
As Site Agent, you ll take ownership of live civil engineering projects from site level, ensuring programmes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams, you ll play a key role in driving performance on site while maintaining exceptional standards across quality, safety, and programme management.
Key duties will include:
- Chairing and attending client and progress meetings
- Coordinating and managing subcontractor activities
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting operational site teams
- Producing short-term programmes and look-ahead plans
- Reviewing and approving RAMS documentation
- Interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Monitoring quality assurance and health & safety standards
- Ensuring company procedures and project requirements are followed throughout delivery
You ll ideally possess:
- A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working with a civil engineering main contractor
- Proven delivery experience across highways, infrastructure, or structures schemes
- Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- A quality-driven mindset with a strong focus on safety and compliance
