In the role of Pastoral Mentor, you'll work predominately at our Brunel Construction centre with occasional travel to our Springfield Centre at Dewsbury providing 1:1 and small-group coaching to support students' personal development, wellbeing, behaviour, and progression. You will play a vital role in removing barriers to learning and ensuring students feel safe, supported and able to succeed.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering 1:1 reviews, targeted interventions and pastoral coaching.

Supporting students identified as at risk", helping them overcome personal, social and academic barriers.

Acting as a lead contact for safeguarding disclosures for a defined caseload, maintaining accurate records and coordinating follow - up support.

Supporting attendance and punctuality monitoring, addressing issues promptly.

Facilitating restorative practice interventions.

Working collaboratively with curriculum teams, SEND, Safeguarding, Work Placement Officers and other internal services.

Providing enrichment activities and contributing to wider college events.

Ideally, you'll have:

A Level 3 qualification such as BTEC, NVQ or A - Level, plus Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent ability).

Experience of working with hard to reach" 14-19 - year - olds in an educational environment.

Strong coaching, communication and organisational skills.

The ability to engage, motivate and support learners with a wide range of needs.

An understanding of safeguarding, wellbeing and current issues affecting FE students.

Term time only staff who start mid Academic year will have their initial salary payments calculated based on actual weeks worked and the number of pay dates between the beginning of employment and the end of the current academic year.
