Environmental Health Officer
Full-time 37 Hours – Permanent
Grade C2, £44,909 - £49,081 per annum (Includes 17.5% Market Supplement)
North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced or newly qualified professional to join the Environmental Protection Team. This post puts you at the heart of a passionate and dynamic department which is critical in the delivery of the Council’s Environmental Protection services. The role includes the inspection and enforcement of permitted premises, investigation of statutory nuisances, monitoring of air quality within the district, reviewing planning applications and contaminated land investigations whilst taking the necessary enforcement action to improve standards and protect public health.
Job Requirements- Degree in Environmental Health (BSc or MSc)
- Registered and accredited by the CIEH
- Diploma in acoustics, or willingness to undertake within a defined timeframe
- Willingness to work with and support the wider Environmental Health Team
- Carry out routine and reactive inspections and audits as listed above
- Support and mentor the Environmental Protection Officers, and environmental crime officer.
- Participate in the council’s emergency out of hours rota
- Be creative with good attention to detail
- Strong visual and language skills
- Competence across all aspects of environmental protection
- A highly organised and dynamic person
- Works effectively as part of small team
You will be required to apply a high level of attention to detail and focus when carrying out this role, to support the delivery of the Environmental Protection Team at an operational and technical level and show an appreciation of the contribution local government can make to the welfare of the people living, working, and visiting the district.
