A Behavior Technician provides 1:1 behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families. Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed the Board Certified Behavior Analyst/Case Supervisor.

This is performed in accordance with board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and treatment plan of care under the direction of BCBA.

1. Completes a BACB approved RBT course and keeps registration to the BACB current.
2. Assists the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming in a 1:1 setting.
3. Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes.
4. Advises and consults with the family and other agency personnel.
5. Participates in in-service programs and presents in-service programs as assigned.
6. Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
7. Participates with all other health care personnel in patient care planning.
8. With the BCBA, instructs patients and family/significant others in home programs and protocols.
9. Attends all staff meetings and patient care conferences.
10. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation or agreed upon exception.
11. Instruction to patient/family in home program with documentation in medical record notes.
12. Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.
13. Immediately reports to BCBA/ Therapy Supervisor any patient incidents/variances or complaints.
14. Adheres to Agency standards and consistently interprets and accurately performs all assigned   responsibilities.
15. Maintains acceptable attendance status, per Agency policy.
16. Appearance is always within Agency standards; is clean and well groomed.
17. Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation.
18. Maintains clean and neat work environment.
19. Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
20. Maintains current BLS/CPR certification.
21. Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High School
1. High School Diploma
2. Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) or desire to work toward receiving your RBT  certification with guidance provided by BCBA.
3. Desire to work with those who are autistic or other special needs, preferred experience.
4. Acceptance of philosophy and goals of the Agency.

Works indoors in agency office and patient homes and travels to/from patient homes/school/community.

Supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analyst/ Therapy Supervisor/Peer.


Successful completion of fingerprinting and criminal history background check
Satisfactory reference check
Professional liability insurance
Required Language Skills:
