Skills Needed: JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the Electronic Hardware requirements, design, analysis, documentation and verification testing of IS&S’ avionics
products and associated circuit cards, components and test equipment. Responsible for the circuit development, component
specifications and hardware support from Concept Phase through Production.

MINIMAL TRAINING NEEDS:
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
• Analog and digital circuit design, analysis and testing.
• Familiarity with PCAD and Allegro development tools desired

• Experience managing noise parameters and electrical isolation within a design (e.g., optimizing transmission line performance vs. solution size).
• Experience performing availability analysis of redundant elements (e.g., using software such as BlockSim).
• Experience simulating analog circuit performance and reliability (e.g., using software such as MathCad).
• Experience with fault tolerant design, redundant design, high availability design, or avionics design.

Skills Needed: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
o Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
o 8 Years of high speed digital design experience
o 5 Years of System and printed circuit board level signal integrity experience
o Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory, signal integrity, both single ended and differential interface technology and power integrity
o Expert with simulation and analysis tools from Mentor Graphics or equivalent, Analog High-Speed Simulator (e.g. Synopsis HSPICE) and 3D RF Simulator (e.g. Ansys HFSS)
o Expert modelling and simulating high speed I/O, PCB interconnects, connectors and package characteristics in both an IBIS and SPICE environment.
o Expert with PCB stack-up design
o Expert at identifying potential design issues and providing options for solutions
o Expert with 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet and channel analysis on high-speed SERDES interfaces (e.g. PCIe, SGMII, etc.)
o Significant experience modelling and analyzing power distribution networks
o Expert with lab equipment such as high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, Time Domain Reflectometers, Vector Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Bit Error Rate Testers and Logic Analyzers
o Expert at creating signal patterns to make measurements
o Expert troubleshooting signal behaviors
o Ability to work well in a diverse, cross-functional and global team
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Strong interpersonal skills

TRAVEL
Position will require some travel (10-15%, possibly international)

•           Collaborate with product development Engineers to develop and execute hardware verification test plans with traceability to product requirements

•           Design, build and maintain test systems used in HW qualification

•           Develop ladder logic used for HW testing
•           Support HW design team as needed for building and board bring up of electronic hardware prototypes
