Unique opportunity to join The Kent Institute team of highly qualified and experienced EFL teachers, working with teenagers and adults, from A2 to C1 level. We are offering two positions for the upcoming course, an EFL native teacher and a teacher leader with an outgoing personality. Applicants should be English native or bilingual speakers, qualified, experienced and passionate about teaching and also possess excellent spoken and written communication skills. We offer a nine month renewable contract of up to 20 hours weekly, from October 2020 to June 2021, with a timetable from Monday to Friday evenings and Thursday mornings. Group ages and levels will be assigned according to the applicant´s profile.Teachers should be available from Monday 28th September for the induction period.

Typical tasks that should be carried out include:
Preparing creative lesson plans;  
presenting lesson planning in the weekly teacher´s meeting;
deliver high quality general English lessons using varied communicative language teaching methods;
apply classroom management skills;
preparing and setting examination papers;
marking and providing appropriate feedback on written exams;
preparing students for Cambridge English Examinations;
working in strong collaboration with the teacher leader;
creating good rapport with students, peers and superiors;

Teachers will be supervised by the teacher leader and the directors of the school who act as classroom supporters, resource providers, instructional specialists and mentors. New teachers will be offered guidance about teaching strategies, curriculum, procedure and practices so as to deliver lessons according to the school method and standard.

As well as having the relevant qualifications and previous experience in similar positions candidates will need to show evidence of the following:
a friendly and confident manner;
good planning and organisational skills;
flexibility and an adaptable teaching style.
accepting to be observed and given feedback on how to reach the students in their classroom. Being open to suggestions and to trying new things to suit students´needs;
creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons;

understanding of the challenges the students may have to learning and what approaches might work best with them individually.

understand the culture of the school
being trustworthy

Teacher leader position: In addition to the teaching position tasks, the teacher leader should occupy the following  leadership roles.
 A classroom supporter who works in classrooms next to teachers helping by demonstrating, or observing and offering feedback.  Supervising colleagues´ work, making sure they are delivering lessons according to the school method and standard using the appropriate tools.
 A resource provider who assists colleagues by sharing instructional resources with their colleagues
 An instructional specialist who helps colleagues to implement effective teaching strategies. A curriculum specialist who shares information about content.
 A mentor  who models and acclimates new teachers to the school culture, while offering guidance about instruction, curriculum, procedure, practices, and politics.
 Close collaborator of the school administrator and director;

Position Requirements
Bachelor, 1 to 2 Years work experience
We require:
native or bilingual speakers with high proficiency in the use of the English language.
European citizen or with a work permit.
a certificate TEFL qualification (preferably CELTA with A or B grade).
education to degree level or equivalent qualification
at least two years' relevant TEFL experience.
experience in Cambridge English or other official exams preparation.
