Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing and reputable construction company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support their Finance team and work closely with the Director of Finance. This is a key role for someone who understands construction accounting—particularly within roadworks and asphalt operations—and can contribute both strategically and hands‑on across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Director of Finance in overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations across the business.

Manage and review job costing, ensuring accuracy across projects, budgets, and cost tracking.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and strong cash flow management.

Assist with financial reporting, month‑end close, and internal controls.

Provide coverage across the team (AP, AR, payroll, admin) during absences or peak periods.

Collaborate with operations teams to ensure accurate project setup, cost allocation, and financial tracking.

Contribute to process improvements and overall efficiency within the finance function.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction or a related industry (road‑works, asphalt, heavy civil).

Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, AP, and AR processes.

Experience working in a hands‑on environment with exposure to full‑cycle accounting.

Proficiency in Acumatica is strongly preferred; experience with Bid2

Win and/or B2W Track is an asset.

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Positive, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to step in wherever needed.
