Job Overview
AZAD Technology Partners is seeking a Data Scientist for a 2+ year consultant role based in Vancouver, WA. The position is hybrid: onsite three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Hourly pay is $65.00–$70.00.
ResponsibilitiesSupport transmission infrastructure asset management by providing analytical expertise for planning, development, integration, and implementation of asset management technologies, methods, and standards. Analyze, process, and model data to develop data‑driven solutions.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in advanced mathematics, computer science, machine learning, or statistics.
- Master's degree – 7 years of hands‑on experience;
Bachelor's degree – 9 years of experience. - Manipulate data sets, query databases, and build statistical models.
- Apply statistical or data‑mining techniques.
- Use web services and analyze data from third‑party users.
- Develop data models and algorithms; create and use advanced machine‑learning algorithms and statistics.
- Knowledge of financial analysis/budgeting, risk analysis, probability and statistics, and electric utility operations.
- At least 10 graduate credits in computer science algorithms, statistics, software design, or data management, OR one of the following Data Science certifications:
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
- DASCA Senior Data Scientist (SDS)
- DASCA Principal Data Scientist (PDS)
- Dell EMC Data Science Track
- Google Certified Professional Data Engineer
- Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate for Machine Learning
- IBM Data Science Professional Certificate
- Mathematics experience: multivariate calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, real analysis.
- Probability and statistics: stochastic processes, classical inference, maximum likelihood, Bayesian methods, Monte Carlo, bootstrapping.
- Computer science: algorithms, data structures, computational complexity, search methods.
- Supervised learning: regression, regularization, ridge regression, ensemble methods, optimization.
- Unsupervised learning: clustering, hierarchical clustering, dimensionality reduction, PCA.
- Time‑series analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and R; experience with distributed or parallel processing techniques for large data sets.
- Strong judgment and problem‑solving skills to translate vague goals into data‑driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior staff, management, executives, and external stakeholders.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License or RealID.
- Knowledge of GIS and Asset Management Systems.
- Experience with R software products.
- Energy/utility industry experience.
- Experience with Power BI (Microsoft Business Intelligence).
