Position Summary

Join SURVICE Engineering in delivering advanced modeling and simulation analyses that directly support military platforms and safeguard U.S. warfighters. We are seeking an experienced AFSIM Mission‑Level Modeling & Simulation Analyst to build, run, and evaluate high‑fidelity mission‑level simulations using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM). In this role, you’ll accelerate your career while contributing as a key member of a multidisciplinary team providing essential modeling and simulation support to DoD programs, including platform assessments, operational scenario development, and mission effectiveness analysis.

Primary

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders to translate operational requirements and program objectives into informed and relevant mission threads, effective AFSIM models, and analytical studies.
  • Develop and execute complex AFSIM‑based mission‑level scenarios to support analysis of military operations, platform performance, and system‑of‑systems effectiveness, including scenario design, simulation execution, kill‑chain evaluations, and assessment of results in operational contexts.
  • Perform post‑processing, statistical analysis, and visualization of AFSIM simulation datasets to derive actionable insights and support data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Develop simulation‑based study plans, run matrices, and analytical products to inform DoD program decisions and performance assessments.
  • Apply Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) processes to ensure the credibility and reliability of AFSIM models and results.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, and presentations on modeling results to program offices, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Support documentation of models, scenarios, methodologies, and findings to facilitate knowledge transfer and program oversight.
  • Stay current with AFSIM capabilities, DoD modeling & simulation best practices, and emerging operational concepts to deliver innovative analytical solutions.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field;
Master’s degree preferred. 2+ years of relevant experience. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; if you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

Desired Experience
  • 2–5+ years of professional experience in modeling & simulation or operations analysis, with 1–3 years of direct AFSIM experience focused on mission‑level modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting mission‑level modeling, simulation, and analysis using AFSIM, including scenario development, execution, kill‑chain dynamics, and evaluation of results in operational contexts.
  • Strong understanding of military platforms, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), CONOPS, and mission‑level concepts (air combat, ISR, electronic warfare, or electromagnetic spectrum operations highly desirable).
  • Experience developing simulation‑based study plans, run matrices, and analytical reports to support DoD program decision‑making.
  • Proficiency in AFSIM scenario scripting and data post‑processing/analysis (Python or MATLAB experience strongly preferred for automation and visualization) and associated toolsets (e.g. HAL).
  • Familiarity with DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) processes, including Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in dynamic, small‑team environments with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
