Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Extension possible based on performance)
Shift: Monday–Friday | Normal Business Hours
Role OverviewWe are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the research, design, development, testing, certification, and deployment of advanced aerospace systems.
This role will also function as an instrumentation specialist
, responsible for designing and integrating instrumentation with aircraft systems (mechanical and electrical) to support FAA and MIL certification data collection
.
The engineer will also:
- Maintain NIST standards for calibration and verification
- Document and control all calibration activities
- Support hardware and software requirements for Data Acquisition Systems and IADS real-time displays
- Design and integrate aircraft instrumentation systems
- Support flight test data collection and certification efforts
- Calibrate sensors and measurement systems per NIST standards
- Manage documentation for calibration and verification activities
- Support real-time display and data acquisition hardware/software
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Hands‑on experience with aircraft instrumentation systems
- Experience with flight testing sensor designs, specifications, and installations
- Familiarity with strain gauges, accelerometers
, and related sensors
- Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- Knowledge of electrical design principles, including:
- Model-based definition
- Electrical component selection
- Manufacturing & production processes
- Familiarity with telemetry systems
- Experience with communication protocols:
- ARINC 429
- CAN Bus
- Ethernet
- Experience with Curtiss-Wright IADS hardware and software
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Typically 2+ years of relevant experience
- Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing stairs
- Frequent repetitive hand and finger motions
- Rare lifting (up to 20 lbs)
- Minimal exposure to outdoor elements, hazardous materials, or loud noise
