The Senior Quality Engineer will take a role in ensuring all products and processes meet stringent quality standards. This highly experienced position involves advanced problem‑solving, strategic planning, and overseeing quality improvement initiatives.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high‑performance ISR and aviation systems. It offers end‑to‑end Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4
ISR) capabilities encompassing design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.
- Participate in program reviews and risk assessments to identify potential quality issues early.
- Provide quality input during program planning, design reviews, and stage‑gate processes.
- Coordinate quality activities and resources to support program milestones and deliverables.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and quality team members.
- Lead strategic quality initiatives and projects to enhance product quality.
- Solve complex quality issues using advanced analytical techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
- Identify and implement quality improvement opportunities.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality standards are integrated into all processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or in a related field.
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Knowledge and experience in the Aviation industry.
- Considerable knowledge of Quality System requirements and contract quality requirements.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing and inspection.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 9001, AS 9001 standards.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
- Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Requirement to be on feet for a significant portion of the work shift.
- Majority of work hours spent on a computer.
- Hand/finger dexterity for using testing and inspection tools.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for audits and supplier visits.
