Overview
The Warehouse Operations Administrator plays a key role in the daily coordination of shipping and transportation activities within the distribution center. This position acts as a liaison between the warehouse, transportation, and systems to ensure efficient, compliant, and on-time shipments, while providing administrative support to operational teams.
Responsibilities- Warehouse Operations:
Create, release, and manage order picking and shipping waves;
Print and distribute operational documents (wave sheets);
Monitor and follow up on customer orders, SOs, WTs, and inter-site transfers;
Prioritize orders based on delivery dates, volume, and operational instructions;
Support supervisors in resolving daily operational issues (delays, adjustments, errors). - Plan and coordinate daily shipments with carriers;
Select carriers according to established guidelines (cost, service, destination, volume);
Communicate with carriers regarding pickups, delivery timelines, and changes;
Manage exceptions such as delays, capacity shortages, excess volume, and urgent deliveries;
Support customer and branch deliveries (LTL, TL, courier, internal fleet). - Systems, Data, and Reporting:
Ensure accuracy of information related to orders, carriers, and shipments;
Identify, document, and escalate discrepancies or issues;
Produce basic reports (shipped volumes, late orders, transportation exceptions). - Compliance and
Collaboration:
Ensure compliance with procedures, SOPs, and safety rules;
Work closely with warehouse, transportation, sales, and inventory teams;
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to dispatch and shipping processes.
Qualifications
Experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or dispatch environment (strong asset);
Good understanding of inbound and outbound operations;
Knowledge of LTL / TL / courier transportation (asset);
Comfortable working with computer systems (ERP, WMS, Excel).
Skills
Strong organizational and priority management skills;
Clear communication with internal teams and carriers;
Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure;
Attention to detail, autonomy, and team spirit;
Service- and solution-oriented mindset.
Work environment combining office and warehouse floor;
Primarily daytime schedule, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.;
Constant interaction with carriers and warehouse teams.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually;
Supplemental Pay Types Include: annual bonus;
The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s skills and experience, in compliance with applicable regulations.
