Prominent mid-sized law firm with offices in Ventura and Santa Barbara is seeking an experienced family law legal assistant or paralegal to work in the Ventura and Santa Barbara Office. The right candidate must have a minimum of Two (2) years’ experience as legal secretary or paralegal in a civil litigation firm. Experience in family law and fluency in written and oral Spanish is PLUS. The right candidate must also understand calendaring procedures and deadlines with knowledge of local rules in Santa Barbara and/or Ventura.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: Assisting attorneys with family law caseload, including without limitation: calendaring; corresponding directly with Clients over the phone and in person regarding numerous issues; working with attorneys to draft correspondence, discovery, pleadings, etc.; preparing client documents for production; filing documents with the court; and occasionally answering the phones. We ask the Candidate to be Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe with familiarity with Clio. Candidate will maintain the court and appointment calendar and should be professional, detail-oriented, organized, and hard-working, with excellent interpersonal skills; Excellent written and oral communications skills with the Ability to work independently.
