Part-Time Academic Tutor

Job Title

Part‑Time Academic Tutor – Northeast Primary School, Rutland City Public Schools

This grant‑funded position supports students in improving academic success by providing targeted instruction and assistance in literacy/reading. The tutor works with students individually and in small groups to strengthen foundational skills, reinforce classroom learning, and address identified learning gaps. The successful tutor collaborates closely with classroom teachers, team members, and administrators to align instruction with student goals and core curriculum expectations.

• Monitor student progress toward specific learning targets and proficiencies.
• Maintain documentation of interventions and instructional strategies.
• Provide individualized and small‑group instruction in literacy/reading.
• Work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support diverse learners and promote equitable educational outcomes.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
• Vermont educator licensure preferred.
• Experience working with elementary‑aged students, preferably K‑5.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting diverse learners and promoting equitable educational outcomes.

  Monday through Friday, 9:30 am‑12:30 pm (up to 18 hours per week)

• Salary: $30.00 per hour
