Position Summary

The Aggregates Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of company-operated gravel pits, quarries, and recycling yard facilities. This role serves as the primary boots-on-the-ground leader for production activities, safety compliance, quality control, customer coordination, and site operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, and experienced in aggregate production, crushing operations, material specifications, and MSHA compliance. This individual will work closely with truck dispatch, field operations, engineers, municipalities, customers, and vendors to ensure efficient production and delivery of quality aggregate materials while maintaining safe and compliant operations.

This position requires a strong field presence, hands‑on leadership style, and the ability to balance operational demands with customer service, compliance requirements, and production planning.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Management
  • Oversee daily operations at gravel pits, quarries, and recycling yard facilities
  • Coordinate crushing, screening, stockpiling, and material processing activities
  • Monitor production output and ensure sites are operating efficiently and safely
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels and properly managed material stockpiles
  • Coordinate equipment utilization and production schedules with supervisors and dispatch
  • Assist in planning seasonal production goals and operational priorities
  • Monitor site conditions, traffic flow, housekeeping, drainage, and environmental controls
  • Ensure pits and yards are opened, operated, and closed safely each day
  • Coordinate internal and external communication related to blasting schedules and operations, including notifications to neighbors, municipalities, subcontractors, and affected parties as required
  • Work closely with blasting contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient blasting activities
Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Oversight
  • Ensure all operations remain compliant with MSHA regulations, Act 250 requirements, local permits, and any pit or quarry‑specific special conditions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all operational permits, conditions, restrictions, and reporting requirements applicable to each site
  • Monitor operational activities to ensure ongoing compliance with environmental, noise, dust, traffic, and operational limitations outlined in permits and approvals
  • Coordinate with management, municipalities, regulators, and consultants regarding inspections, permitting, and compliance matters as needed
  • Maintain organized compliance documentation and operational records
Safety & MSHA Compliance
  • Maintain active MSHA certification and ensure compliance with all MSHA regulations
  • Conduct and document required MSHA training, including annual refresher and new miner training as applicable
  • Lead site safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and training records
Quality Control & Technical Knowledge
  • Monitor material quality and ensure compliance with project specifications and state requirements
