Maintenance Technician II-Facility​/Ice Rink

Overview

Maintenance Technician II - Facility (Ice Rink Assistant Manager) involved in supervising and performing journey-level duties while actively participating in daily maintenance and operations of the Western Park Ice Rink and complex. The role emphasizes proactive facility maintenance to anticipate and prepare for scheduled events, coordinating with office staff and community groups to meet all specifications for customer events.

• Supervise and participate in daily maintenance and operations of the ice rink and facility.
• Coordinate with office staff and community groups to meet event specifications.
• Maintain and clean the ice rink, inspect the rink, skates, and equipment for safety issues, and perform extensive environmental maintenance.
• Perform groundskeeping tasks including landscaping (planting, grooming lawns, trees, shrubbery) and installing/maintaining sprinkler systems and timers.
• Handle essential administrative and financial tasks: process money, operate and balance cash register, process credit card transactions, and prepare deposits.
• Maintain readiness for 24-hour emergency calls.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED), supplemented by technical school training or certification in maintenance, construction, or facilities management.
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in facility maintenance, with proficiency in plumbing, electrical systems, and painting.
• Equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience accepted.
• Thorough knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and repair methods; plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems; current building codes; safety hazards and precautions; risk management principles; facilities maintenance best practices; and adherence to OSHA and ADA requirements.

This full-time position offers $21.56 per hour, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement plans, and supplemental options.
