About this role
The Store Manager, under the general supervision of the Regional Manager, is responsible for the management of a major retail operation, providing leadership and direction, controlling costs and maximizing revenue through the achievement of sales targets. The store manager also provides excellent customer service and education to the public.
The manager reviews and analyzes all aspects of store operations, including budget input, employment cost control, and report analysis. They contribute to establishing and improving the Cannabis Store image through implementing and maintaining policies. The manager is responsible for hiring, training and developing staff, scheduling assignments, and participating as required in all store duties.
Work may take place in office, retail, and warehouse locations. Shift work, evenings and weekends are required. The role requires traveling overnight within the Province of British Columbia.
Successful completion of a criminal record check and Selling it Right Certificate is required.
Position requirements- Secondary (high school) diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Minimum three (3) years of recent, related experience leading a team within a customer-facing retail operation, experience with customer service and asset management.
- Degree, diploma or certificate in business or retail management.
- Experience in a government or regulatory environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience in the cannabis industry.
- Formal coursework in cannabis from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Relief time (supervisory experience in a relief capacity) must be clearly stated. Relief hours will be verified at the performance stage and must meet the minimum experience requirement.
